Nexus history..
Trans dimensional travel has been discovered, unfortunately the friction caused when passing into another reality is fatal...and severely damages machines too.
The tech is deemed worthless until the discovery of a way to protect people from the friction ...a way to temporarily mask them on a subatomic level, causing their genetic makeup to resonate with the destination reality, the traveller when passing emtering the portal would pass throughout masking field, altering them randomly to look and even have abilities similar to inhabitants of that reality.
Over the next 50 years, humanity sent scouting missions to many realities,learning all they could. to better enable future scouts to fit in.
A lot of technological advances were discovered and brought back from alternate worlds, and while the majority was useless in this reality, enough was gathered to begin a new age for earth. An end was brought to war,hunger and disease.....
Now 300 years after the initial discovery, the random nature of the masking has been eliminated, travellers now being able to build their MASK before departure, customising abilities,appearance and attire which is saved upon return,ready for another trip to that world.
Interdimensional vacations are now a favorite of the human race, and so The Nexus was created, a pocket reality that acts as a gateway to countless other worlds.
Everyday, thousands visit the Nexus to live out things that were once the realm of
Fantasy
